Crowley Lake can be accessed in the following ways:

  • By Boat - Crowley Lake Fish Camp - Main Launch Ramp - this is very popular for anglers wanting to fish by a boat that must be launched. Fees are typically 20 dollars per day for a car and boat launch but check the Crowley Lake Fish Camp website for current rates.
  • By Float Tube - There are many dirt roads allowing access to the lake, particularly in the North Arm. Anglers can launch from the shore or fish from shore. There is no cost at the time of writing of this article.
Common Fishing Areas:
  • McGee Bay - Common in the late spring and middle of summer, it can get crowded around the outhouse in 15-25 feet of water.

    • Big Hilton
  • Green Banks
  • Leighton Springs
  • Six Bays
  • Pelican Point
  • Alligator Point
  • Sandy Point
  • Crooked Creek
  • McGee Bay
So Where Should an Angler Fish?
  • Different spots are productive at different times of the year
  • The North Arm of the lake tends to be more productive in the Fall
  • McGee tends to be more productive in the Spring and Summer
  • Read local fishing reports to know where the fish are currently biting
  • Look around the lake, there is usually a 'fleet' of boats where the fish are currently biting
  • Talk with a local tackle shop in Mammoth Lakes or Bishop
